Educational Needs Analysis

This is part of our Resources for teachers series

Students on the autism spectrum may present unique challenges to school systems. An inclusive approach to education requires teachers to address these challenges and support the unique needs of autistic students.

Autism CRC's Australian Autism Educational Needs Analysis used a nationwide survey to obtain information about the educational needs of students on the autism spectrum from four key stakeholder groups including educators, specialists, parents, and students on the spectrum (11-18 years).

A total of 1,468 respondents participated in the survey. A final report, executive summary and visual snapshots outline the key findings of the research and identify some of the needs of school-aged students on the spectrum which influence their learning, participation and engagement in educational settings.

You can find more resources on the Australian Educational Needs Analysis and related practices on inclusionED, an online learning platform that provides evidence-based practices, resources and professional-development tools for teachers and educators to support diverse learners.
