Members of the Australasian Autism Research Council (AARC) met at the Brisbane Airport Conference Centre in August for a planning day.

Members discussed how the AARC can best achieve its objective to define and review national priorities and identify relevant areas for autism research for the autistic and autism communities.

This work is timely given the evolving autism-related practice and policy landscape resulting from a range of reforms and initiatives, such as the development of the National Autism Strategy and other state-based strategies, a National Roadmap to Improve the Health and Mental Health of Autistic People, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) review, as well as the results of recent Autism CRC research undertaken in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.
