This was the final year of our foundation Cooperative Research Centre Program, with our Commonwealth CRC Funding Agreement and our Participant Agreements coming to an end on 30 June 2022. The year also saw arrangements formalised for our legacy operations, commencing on 1 July 2022, and continuing our work with, and for, the autism community utilising the same collaborative stakeholder model nationally and internationally.

As you read through this Annual Report, you will learn the full scope of our work. Autism CRC and its collaboration partners have together extended our research, knowledge translation and capacity-building activities beyond the CRC Program. The financial support of Government, Members and other partners have contributed almost $20 million in addition to our original CRC Program and Participant funding during the life of the CRC Program funding period.

This Annual Report rightly recognises and celebrates our activities, outputs and unique collaboration over the CRC Program from 2013 to 2022. It also highlights how we continue to build on those foundations to advance autism-related practice and policy beyond the CRC Program, again underpinned by the principles of co-design and co-production with stakeholders.

We are very proud of the outputs and impacts our collaboration has delivered for the benefit of our end-user community – autistic people and their families, and those who strive to support them.

We hope that you will join us as we continue into our next phase, expanding our work and further realising our vision to see autistic people with quality of life and opportunity.

Happy reading
